How Careers are Built.

Through our Early Career Program, Highland Homes is proud to offer summer internships and entry-level roles for new graduates. These positions have been developed to provide meaningful hands-on experience to enhance the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom. Interns and new graduates will learn about the Highland culture, core values and guiding principles, along with the foundational skills to be successful.

Taylor P. (Texas State University)

"This is the best internship program. I have friends who are interning with our builders and here at Highland we are treated with the respect of a Construction Manager rather than a student in the classroom."

Nathan S. (Texas Tech University)

"I am very happy to be here. I have learned so much and it has exceeded my expectations. I am not doing coffee runs, but getting real hands-on work including time with future homeowners. Highland is much more customer-focused than other builders."

Adrian R. (Texas A&M University)

"The internship exceeded my expectations. I learned more than I thought I would and was able to apply the concepts that I learned about in school. I feel like I have learned more in the 8-week program than I did in a semester of college."

To be considered for an early career position, students must be actively enrolled in a degree program or be a recent graduate.

"The internship at Highland was a great time. Coming in I learned so much in my classes, but this was my first opportunity to use that knowledge and finally see it in action. I thought it was a really neat experience and solidified my decision to choose this as a career."

Lane N.

Texas State University

"This is my 4th internship in construction but first in single family residential. I have been blown away by my experience. I have never seen more people happy to work in construction and have been very impressed. This has been the best internship experience."

Clay K.

Texas A&M University

A solid foundation for an exciting career.
