How Careers are Built.

Through our Early Career Program, Highland Homes is proud to offer summer internships and entry-level roles for new graduates. These positions have been developed to provide meaningful hands-on experience to enhance the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom. Interns and new graduates will learn about the Highland culture, core values and guiding principles, along with the foundational skills to be successful.

Ryder G (Oklahoma University)

"Everyone was kind and helpful to me as an intern. There were no power dynamics or busy work. My mentor was knowledgable and I never felt like there was a dumb question."

Clay K. (Texas A&M)

"This is my 4th internship in construction but first in single family residential. I have been blown away by my experience. I have never seen more people happy to work in construction and have been very impressed. This has been the best internship experience."

Hanaa S. (Collin College)

"During the internship, I learned the stages of construction and was able to identify the stage based on the condition of the home. I also learned how to communicate effectively and confidently with the trades. One of my favorite things was the opportunity for hands-on experience, responsibility, scheduling and supervision.

To be considered for an early career position, students must be actively enrolled in a degree program or be a recent graduate.

"This is the best internship program. I have friends who are interning with other builders and here at Highland we are treated with the respect of being a CM rather than a student in the classroom."

Taylor P.

Texas State University

"Even though taking an internship as a Construction Science major is required, it has been the most useful and helpful thing I have done in my college career. Getting out in the field you learn that there is so much not taught in the classroom and everyone at Highland is always willing to teach and help.

Makayla S.

Texas State University

A solid foundation for an exciting career.
